This week a mailing list of Apple which revealed this discount offer. A message has been sent out to Apple developers detailing on the new App Store volume purchase program which allows educational institutions to make bulk purchases on iOS apps at a discounted price. It allows qualified institutions to purchase apps for the iPad, iPhone and iPod touch. The new program allows educational institutions to purchase multiple copies of the same application at once.
Purchasing software through the App Store Volume Purchase Program, the vouchers are sold via the Apple Store for Education in $100, $500, $1,000, $5,000, and $10,000 denominations and are distributed to program facilitators to purchase app bundles.[via]
