Do you want to extract a DMG file on your Mac OS X? Well, You can easily extract a DMG file on your Mac OS X by using Windows and HFSExplorer. STEP 1. First you have download HFSExplorer and then install it on your Mac OS X.


STEP 2. Now you have to select Register .dmg file association during setup.

STEP 3. Now you can notice that the DMG files on your computer are associated with the program. Now open the DMG file by simply double clicking on it.

STEP 4. Now you have to select “disk image” (Apple_HFS) when you will be asked by HFSExplorer to select which Apple Partition to read and then click the OK button.


STEP 5. Now you can see the contents of the DMG file on an explorer window. Now you can choose the file you would like to extract from the DMG and then simply click Extract button.


STEP 6. Now you have to choose the directory you would like to extract to by using the popup window, then simply click Extract here button.


STEP 7. Now you have to click Yes button when you will be asked by HFSExplorer to follow symbolic links while extracting.


STEP 8. After the you have extracted the selected file successfully then click OK button.
