Google Adsense is getting better day by day. Before sometime it started adsense for feeds and domains and now it’s launching expandable ad format. Expandable ads get enlarged upon click or mouse over which will be available in either banner or square size format. Soon google will allow all it’s advertisers to start showing their expandable ads, currently it’s limited to few US advertisers only.
Google understands that expandable ads are a bit annoying. You get an ad getting enlarged and covering the most part of the page which makes you angry and annoying. So, Google decided to enlarge an ad upon clicking only. Nothing will happen even if you move your mouse cursor on it. These ad formats are best for movie trailers, video clips, games etc.
Google clarified that adsense publishers will get their share of revenue on CPC (Cost per click) and CPM (Cost per thousand impressions) basic. A user must click on the ad and go to the advertiser’s landing page for publisher’s revenue generation. If a user clicks on the ad and views it’s enlarged format only, the publisher will get that added into CPM count.
This expandable ad format is not going to skyrocket Google’s revenue, but it will act like an extra advantage to it’s adsense system. Let’s see when these kind of ads are coming live to India.
