How to Set Google Voice Missed Call Notifications On your Phone
Few days ago, Google was introduced phone call feature in Gmail as well as “Google Voice” integration to keep track of “missed calls”. Which allows users to get notified in both Google Voice inbox and e-mail Inbox. Well, here we provide you a complete guidelines to set Missed Call Notifications. Most of the times in the case with new Google applications, the setting is hidden in the menu somewhere. But, however it is very easy to turn on the missed call notifications in Google Voice inbox and e-mail Inbox, although it is little complicated to get but this feature really works on “real” mobile numbers. Follow the instructions bellow.
Get Missed Call Notifications On Gmail
- Log in to Google Voice account
- Click on “Settings” (You will see two options “Voice Settings” and “Google Account Settings”)
- Click on “Voice Settings”
- Now click on “Calls” tab
- Now, locate “Missed Calls” section at the very bottom of the page that includes two options
- Click on Check box “Place missed calls in the Inbox” or “Send missed calls to my e-mail” or Both
- After checking the options, click on “Save changes” button
NOTE: “Place missed calls in the inbox” option allows you to get missed call notifications at the Voice application website AND “Send missed calls to my e-mail” option allows you to get notifications to your attached Google account e-mail address.
Well, that is all, Now you can get notified whenever you miss a call to your Google Voice phone number. And you will receive missed call notifications, something like says ” Missed call from (xxx) xxx-xxxx at 12.15 a.m or whatever time is it.
Get Missed Call Notifications On Mobile
What if you receive missed call notifications of your Google Voice number on your real mobile phone? Well, for this, you will have to active Google voicemail for your mobile phone. Follow the instructions bellow -
- Log in to Google Voice account
- Click on “Settings” (You will see two options “Voice Settings” and “Google Account Settings”)
- Click on “Voice Settings”
- Now click on “Phones” tab
- And Find the “Activate Google voicemail on this phone” section (as shown image bellow)
- A pop-up window will open which includes an activation code, Now, pick up your phone to dial the activation code (this confirms your carrier to be identified)
- Now “Call” or Send” from your phone as suggested ( the step 2 as shown in image bellow)
- After enabling this function you will receive instant confirmation that multiple forwarding features have been enabled ( If you don’t receive confirmation, then you might want to have someone dial your real number to test it)
Well, that’s all, This works same like the rules as you set inbox notifications of missed calls to your real phone number, not just to your Google Voice number.
NOTE: If you want to disable this feature, you can repeat the same process but by selecting “Deactivate Google voicemail on this phone” option.
