As speculated CES 2014 has unveiled many new and rumored gadgets. One of the rumored devices Huawei Ascend Mate 2 4G also surfaced at the event. With the launch of Huawei Ascend Mate from the grapevine it was heard that the Company will soon launch its successor and here it is. The Chinese Handset maker Huawei brings the Ascend Mate 2 at the event. The new Huawei Ascend Mate 2 features 6.1-inch display, 2GB RAM and 4G LTE support. Specification-wise, Huawei Ascend Mate 2 runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system layered with Emotion UI 2.0 which is a big surprise to the folks rather than the latest KitKat OS. The processor embedded in is 1.6GHz clocked quad-core Cortex-A7 processor in Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chipset. The Ascend Mate 2 features 6.1-inch HD IPS capacitive display having a resolution of 720×1280 pixels. Memory-wise, the Huawei smartphone boards 2GB RAM and 16GB of onboard storage that is expandable up to 64GB via microSD card support. The phablet measures 161 x 84.9 x 9.5 mm and weighs about 202g.
Ascend Mate 2 sports impressive 13MP rear shooter with autofocus and LED flash for notable photography and video recording in HD quality. The front panel equips 5MP front-facing shooter for self portrait and video chats. In terms of connectivity, the Huawei phablet boasts Wi-Fi 802.11 a/ b/ g/ n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS/A-GPS+GLONASS, Micro-USB, etc. The sensors integrated are Proximity sensor, Accelerometer, and Gyroscope. The device packs a 4,050mAh battery.
There is no word on the pricing. The new Ascend Mate 2 4G smartphone is a bit slimmer in comparison to the predecessor. With tagged price the fate of the device will be decided like how the device will attract the users as there are other smartphone who are already in the market with similar specs.
