If you are waiting for cheaper iPhone, then you will be happy to know that now you can see the cheaper iPhone mockup. NWE has created mockup of the cheaper iPhone based on iPhone 5 design. They have posted the photos of iPhone mini mockup on their website. According to NWE, the cheaper iPhone will be called as “iPhone mini” and it will feature 3.5-inch screen. DigiTimes has recently claimed that Apple will use plastic chassis in cheaper iPhone to reduce its manufacturing cost. Below photo shows iPhone mini mockup with 3.5-inch screen.

From the above photos you can see how the cheaper iPhone will look like with 3.5-inch screen. If Apple uses 3.5-inch screen in the cheaper iPhone, then it will look like the above picture. Recently the sources of DigiTimes had claimed that the cheaper iPhone will come with plastic and metal chassis. They had claimed that users will be able to see the internal metal parts. They had also claimed that the plastic chassis of cheaper iPhone will be supplied by an electronic manufacturing service provider of the United States. You should note that cheaper iPhone will not be the first iOS device that will come with plastic chassis. iPhone 3GS and iPhone 3G also includes plastic chassis. Recently Bloomberg had reported that the cheaper iPhone will cost $99-$149 without any contract. As we know Android phones are available at a very low price. If the cheap iPhone costs $99, then it will be a great competitor of cheap Android phones.

If iPhone mini comes with plastic chassis, then it will carry less weight than the iPhone 5 as the current generation iPhone 5 includes aluminum and glass chassis. Apple is expected to launch iPhone mini in the second half of 2013. Still no word from Apple regarding the launch date of iPhone mini. Recently DigiTimes had predicted that low-cost iPhone will be launched in the second half of 2013.
