How to Jailbreak iOS 5.0.1 on iPhone, iPod touch, iPad Using Redsn0w 0.9.9b8

The good news is that you can use Redsn0w 0.9.9b8 to jailbreak iOS 5.0.1 on iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. This is a tethered jailbreak so you have to boot your iOS device into jailbroken state every time you restart it. STEP 1. Download Redsn0w 0.9.9b8 for Windows and Mac from the links given below:

STEP 2. Now you have to launch Redsn0w 0.9.9b8 on your Windows or Mac, then click on “Extras” button.

STEP 3. Click on “Select IPSW” button and point it to the iOS 5 firmware file.

STEP 4. Return back to the home screen and click on “Jailbreak” button.

STEP 5. Select “Install Cydia” and then click on “Next” button.
