Lenovo IdeaPhone A586 smartphone with voice unlock technology for China

Lenovo has launched its Lenovo IdeaPhone A586 Android smartphone featuring 4.5-inch touch screen display along with Voice unlock feature. This is a first Android smartphone featuring “Voice unlock” technology, which enables users to access the device by saying the passphrase. This technology is developed by the Chinese search company (Baidu), Singapore Agency for Science and Technology and this device is only will be available in the china.

The CPU of Lenovo IdeaPhone A586 is powered by Qualcomm MSM8225 dual-core processor and the clock speed of this processor is 1.2GHz. It provides 4.5-inch FWVGA capacitive IPS touch screen display with 480 x 854 pixels of resolutions and the dimensions are 135.5 x 67.6 x 10.4 mm. The smartphone offers 5MP of rear camera with 2582 x 1944 pixels of resolution including Dual LED Flash and also offers 1920 x 1080 pixels of HD video recording. The Lenovo IdeaPhone A586 smartphone provides 512MB of RAM along with the provided internal memory is 4GB, which can be expanded further for additional storage using a MicroSD card.

The network connectivity supports are Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, GPS, GSM (900/1800/1900 MHz), WCDMA 2100 MHz, HSUPA (3.5G), HSDPA (3.5G), EDGE, GPRS and Bluetooth 3.0. It provides slots for 3.5 mm of a headphone jack and USB port. The media player supports AAC, AAC +, eAAC +, MP3, MP4, WMA, AMR-NB, AMR-WB, Mobile XMF, SP-MIDI, G-MIDI 1, OGG WAV, FLAC audio formats and WMV, MPEG- 4 video formats.

The smartphone is simply unlocked by saying the passphrases, which is possible because there is a ‘speaker verification’ technology and is embedded with the smartphone. This is a latest technology of Baidu and A * STAR’s Institute which can recognize the specific sounds. This phone is only will be available in the Chinese market and its price is approximately around $160.
