Samsung Galaxy S5 Active gets Android v6.0.1

After S5, its turn for Galaxy S5 Active. AT&T handset Samsung Galaxy S5 Active is receiving over the air update to Android v6.0.1 Marshmallow OS. Folks who have longed for the Update can finally enjoy Marshmallow goodies on S5 Active.

To jog your memory, Samsung galaxy S5 Active is powered by quad-core Snapdragon 801 chipset. As the handset is a rugged unit it can sustain extreme condition with a full-HD display i.e. it is both water and dust resistant.

On the memory board, it is offered with 2GB of RAM, internal storage and MicroSD card slot details are still unavailable but expected to ship with similar capacity as that of Galaxy S5. More on the specs-sheet are yet to unveil. From the alleged videos that have surfaced shows an AT&T Micro-SIM card slot.

On the imaging terms, the Active edition features 16MP rear snapper. It also allows underwater photography and video recording with the Aqua Mode feature. The earphone jack included in the handset is also waterproof. On connectivity side, the smartphone supports 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth ,etc.

Check out your gadgets to see whether your handset is receiving the update yet or not. You can also go for manual update if there is no update notification.

Tap on Phone Settings > About phone > Update center > System updates > Check for update.

Few things to keep in mind before you go for a Security update on the device.

1- Check whether enough space is available on the gadget required for the update. The new OS or software version will need few MB locations on the gadget so make sure you have enough space for the OTA upgrade.

2- Check your Wi-Fi or Internet Connection. The internet connectivity should be strong enough.

3- If your device holds Backup options then you can go for it in case there is failure or something goes wrong during the update then you can retrieve your valuable information and details.
