How to Trace your Stolen iPhone via MobileMe Application
There are several ways available to track or trace a lost mobile phone, but all these methods come with few drawbacks, making the tracking unsuccessful. People were depending on third party services to trace their stolen phones and since those services were not up to the mark, Apple decided to develop a new application for iPhones to help in tracing them in case of theft. This service is called “Find My iPhone” which can locate lost or stolen iPhones remotely using iPhone’s GPS feature. This service is available as part of Apple’s MobileMe online subscription service.
Once your iPhone gets stolen, you can use Google Maps to trace it’s current location and send a message to the stolen iPhone which will be displayed on the phone’s screen even if it’s locked. The owner can also make the iPhone to play sound for two minutes and this can be even done remotely. The message and sound feature can alert the thief to return the iPhone to the owner and the sound feature can be used to trace the thief in a area after locating his presence using Google Maps.
If you need to protect your iPhone using Apple’s MobileMe service, it will cost you just $99 a year after a free 2 months trial. But you can get it for $71.99 on Amazon.com store.
