How to Unlock iOS 5.0.1 on iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS Using Ultrasn0w 1.2.5



Good news for iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS users. Now you can unlock your iPhone on iOS 5.0.1. iPhone Dev team has announced the release of Ultrasn0w 1.2.5. This new updated version of Ultrasn0w comes with support for iOS 5.0.1. Ultrasn0w 1.2.5 can be used to unlock iOS 5.0.1 on iPhone 4 or iPhone 3GS. For those who don’t know, Ultrasn0w is a program which allows iPhone users to use their iOS device on other carriers by unlocking it. Ultrasn0w 1.2.5 supports baseband 04.26.08 / 05.11.07 / 05.12.01 / 05.13.04 / 06.15.00 for iPhone 3GS and 01.59.00 for iPhone 4. It does not support new basebands. If you have upgraded your iPhone to iOS 5.0.1 then you can unlock it using Ultrasn0w 1.2.5.

You have to jailbreak your iPhone before unlocking it using Ultrasn0w 1.2.5. You can follow the steps posted here to jailbreak your iPhone on iOS 5.0.1 using Redsn0w or you can follow the steps posted here to jailbreak iPhone on iOS 5.0.1 using Ac1dSn0w beta 2. As it is a tethered jailbreak, so you have to boot your iPhone into jailbroken state every time you restart it. Now you can follow the steps posted below to unlock iPhone on iOS 5.0.1 using Ultrasn0w 1.2.5.

How to Unlock iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS on iOS 5.0.1 Using Ultrasn0w 1.2.5

STEP 1. Tap on Cydia icon from the homescreen to launch it.

STEP 2. Tap on “Manage”, then tap on “Sources”.

STEP 4. Tap on “Add” button and enter the URL given below and tap on “Add Source” button.

STEP 5. Tap on “Return to Cydia” button.

STEP 6. Now you have to search for “Ultrasn0w 1.2.5” and tap on it.

STEP 7. Tap on “install” button and then tap on “Confirm” button to download and install Ultrasn0w 1.2.5 on your iPhone.
