At MWC 2010 event, Vodafone, one of the leading mobile phone operators announced two cheapest mobile phone handsets, nearly one week after Nokia’s announcement of $10mobile handset. Vodafone 150 and Vodafone 250 will be the World’s cheapest mobile phones and will be made available to the retail market soon. As disclosed at the on going MWC 2010 event, Vodafone 150 will be the cheapest Black and White handset while Vodafone 250 will be the cheapest color phone.

Vodafone plans to grab a decent market share with these two handsets in isolated rural areas. With this Vodafone expects that the phone will reach 60 percent of the population in India, a prime market for both these phones.
The Vodafone 150 has been priced below $15 (Rs. 700) while the Vodafone 250 will cost below $20 (Rs. 900).
