Ping is a XML-RPC based push mechanism. It notifies search engines and other servers that your blog is ready with updates. Once servers get notified by ping services, they visit your blog, crawl your contents and update their database. In order to get a good stand, you need to use ping service every time you update your blog. Blogs like WordPress and Nucleus use an inbuilt pinging service and can notify severs automatically once you update your blog. But with blogger blogs, you have to do it manually.

There are several pinging services available today. In order to get noticed and updated, you should use the best pinging services. Here, i am listing a list of best ping services. Use them and ping your blog. This plays a very important role in your blog’s SEO also.

  5. Ping The Empire – Pings 18 most used servers.
  6. Pingates – Supports several language pings.
  7. AutoPinger – As the name suggests, once asked it will start pinging to selected servers.
  8. Ping.in – It can notify blog services and blog search engines.
  9. Feed Shark – You can use this service to ping several search engines and directories.

Pinging is a very powerful part of blogging and should be used to maximize your blog’s exposure. But few times this pinging might get you banned from search engines also. Pinging services automatically notify search engines once you update your blog. This update may happen because of a new post or if you have just edited one of your posts. Now suppose you edit 10 blog posts in one hour, then all ping services would get pinged 10 times in one hour.

Sending excessive pings in a  short period of time may get you banned from search engines. And also, while posting a future scheduled post, your blog notifies the search engines that your blog is ready with updates. But when the search engine spiders visit your blog, they will find nothing new as you have a future scheduled post. In this way they will think that you are sending them unnecessary pings. Doing these thing unknowingly might get your blog banned.
