The Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has introduced two new devices in Malaysian land. Both the smartphones packs decent specs. We are talking about Xiaomi Mi 3 and Xiaomi RedMi 1S. Malaysian residents can have their hands on the devices soon. Mi 3 floors starting tomorrow for RM 889 or $277.
For those who were eyeing for the launch of the handsets since it was announced can finally be at ease. Xiaomi has announced Mi 3 and RedMi 1S officially now in Malaysian mainland. Starting 20th May, the Mi 3 smartphone will be available online.
As per the specifications, Xiaomi Mi 3 is running on the Android 4.33 based MIUI. The processing unit embedded is the quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor clocked at 2.3GHz. In terms of memory, it boards 2GB RAM, 16GB inbuilt storage but lacks microSD card slot.
The device features 5-inch FHD display boasting a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. On the camera side, it sports a 2MP front shooter to video chat and snap selfies. On the back side it is accorded with 13MP rear snapper with LED flash for quality pictures and shooting. The smartphone packs a battery of 3050 mAh battery.
Next comes Xiaomi Redmi 1S otherwise known as HongMi 1S. It was introduced couple of months ago. It was earlier launched in China in the month of February. On the software front, the handset runs on Android 4.3-based MIUI V5 OS. It is powered by Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor running at 1.6GHz. On memory terms, it houses 1GB RAM, 8GB onboard storage. The dimensions for the device 137 x 69 x 9.9 mm and weighs about 158 grams.
Talking about the camera, Xiaomi Hongmi 1S is equipped with 8MP snapper at the back side for photography and video shooting. On the front side it is offered with 1.6MP front-snapper for video chats and self portrait. In terms of connectivity, it supports Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, and USB port. It is backed up by 2000 mAh battery and supports microSD card.
If you are in Malaysia then you can buy the Xiaomi Mi 3 starting tomorrow from official Xiaomi site. But the handsets will be selling via popular telecom service provider in Malaysia.
On the other hand, the RedMi 1S or HongMi 1S will hit the floors next month probably but the price is not clear yet.
In the mean time let me remind you, Xiaomi has unveiled 7.9-inch tablet named MiPad in the Home market. It is first tablet from the makers. We hope Xiaomi will soon make the tablet available for sale globally. The tablet sports RETINA display and is powered by 2.2GHz quad-core Nvidia Tegra K1 CPU. MiPad is offered with 8MP Sony BSI rear-camera and 5MP front camera. Memory-wise, it boards 2GB RAM, and 16GB/64GB internal storage. You can read the detailed specifications here.
