Yota Device the Russian smartphone manufacturer company of the Russian telecom today released the world’s first dual sided screen Android smartphone to the Android market. They named it as Yotaphone while it is not gave the clear information about the network but the models are going to operate in Europe, Asia, and North America. This phone will come to market in the Q3 of 2013. You can have the later details related to the specs sheet of the device discussed ahead.
The Yotaphone featuring a pair of 4.3 inch of screen situated in the both sides of the phone. The resolution of the E-ink screen is not known yet but the primary LCD screen provides 1280×720 pixels of resolution. The phone runs on Android 4.2 jelly bean OS and powered by Qualcomm 1.5GHz Snapdragon Krait dual-core CPU. The device is going to give 32GB or 64GB of flash storage along with an integrated 12MP of camera and LTE connectivity.
The smart phone is very thin and featuring its primary LCD display on one side and a secondary E-ink electronic paper display (EPD) on the other side of the phone. The LCD screen is meant for watching movies or playing games but the secondary display the E-ink one is meant for e-book and news article reading. The both sides of display will automatically update themselves with new notifications, news stories calendar entries and many more.
E-ink display is very power efficient and does not need much power so it can stay without killing the battery. The battery of this device is 2,100mAH and can provide up to 64GB of additional storage. The pre loaded LTE feature, which is enabled to phone is to connect with 3, 7 and 20 MIMO bands.
According to the report, the Yota has been doing experiments with the phone for the past couple of years and they finally come back with the technology to use E-ink screen as the secondary display in the phone. The retails price does not decided yet but the Company said they are going to demonstrate the phone at CES next month and at MWC in March.
